Thinking maybe, if things aren't what they were. Like you were in "The high life," and it wasn't real, and you just keep on moving, like the song sings. Acceptance is necessary for longevity, but if you see something you want, or need, or both, why not?

I love this song. It still reminds me of getting off work late at night in the spring when everything was quiet and the song soothing.

This is a truly wonderful song. I'm old enough to remember it first time round but I didn't really fall in love with it until this morning when it was played on UK's Radio 2 station. The lyrics are so true, painfully so for some people. It's okay to be single, it really is...

this song is one of the greatest and most uplifting songs to come out of the period! it lifts me up at this moment because it tells me that i should take a chance on the new love coming into my life at this very time! & i heard the song for years on commercials for radio stations and it came to me most recently because i have to decide if i am going to allow my petty whims and wants rule in my search to find love with another person... instead of taking hold of what is in front of me right now!
