WIRED SCIENCE | Body Builders | PBS

Back

Dr. Anthony Atala of Wake Forest University is building organs in his lab. Last year he publicized his success of growing bladders -- the first actual living human organs created in a lab and grown unattached to a human being. Correspondent Tamara Krinsky visits with Atala and learns how he "cooks" and grows these organs. We also visit the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine where we learn about the future of regenerative medicine and the challenges that lie ahead.
